Geared towards our young and emerging artists, students enjoy lessons on drawing, character creation, and demos from professionals.
- Classes are two hours each (with the exception of the Young Artist class)
- Lessons rotate on a bi-monthly basis.
- All supplies and materials are included in the class price. This does NOT include computer hardware or software.
Class Descriptions
2D Animation
Want to learn animation but don’t know where to start? This class focuses on understanding the principles of animation using 2D hand-drawn skills. Students will learn about the basics of animation, creating storyboards, animatics, and all the ins and outs of the medium. The lessons are geared towards traditional paper animation and is the perfect starting point for artists ready to dip their toes into the world of moving pictures.
Concept Art
Concept Art & Development is a class dedicated to creativity. In this class, students are invited to partake in the art of world-building, character design, environment design, and everything in between! Assignments and projects will revolve around student's honing their skills in illustration and design.
DND n' Comics (New campaign starting 10/7/24)
In this class students will participate in character creation and illustration, play one-shot dnd sessions, and proceed to make comics about the events that occurred during their game! Through these exercises students will practice creating as an individual and working collaboratively to then experience and tell a story in comic-format.
*This class is perfect for DND beginners! Preferably, students have some art-making experience/are comfortable with drawing.
This class will be a slightly longer; sometimes taking more than 4 weeks to complete a cycle. And as such, is not as easy to drop into.
Horror & Hilarity in Comics (NEW!)
This class goes over the physical and mental process of making comics that are humorous, terrifying, or even both! Forge stories and draw from personal experience in your creative endeavors.
Digital Art
Digital Art is meant for students to become familiar with digital arts materials and media. Students in this class will be challenged to illustrate different subjects using different traditional art techniques, using digital arts programs. This class is perfect for students of all kinds from total beginners to seasoned digital painters.
Drawing & Inking
Want to create a full story in the comic art form? In this class, we create comic pages and emphasize techniques to illustrate a story clearly. You will be working on sketching, penciling, and inking a maximum of 2 full 11x14 comic pages by the end of each month.
Manga Art & Illustration
This class will focus on developing styles closest to manga or manhua comics! Students will be taught to observe manga closely to study storytelling choices in Asian comics in order to create their very own comics and illustrations in the style of manga. (If your child enjoys anime/manga, this is the class that focuses on that style of art!)
Morning Manga
Morning Manga is for manga-style comic making! Students in this class will be challenged to improve their art skills by drawing manga style pages and comics. This class seeks to get students familiar with the comic making process and hone their stylization skills based on manga methods of storytelling and pacing.
Portfolio for Dummies
This class is oriented to the growing number of artists who would like to learn to better navigate the art world through a professional lens, and for those who would like to be more confident in their presentation online. In this class, not only will we be drawing, but we will also be learning about the dos and don’ts of commission work, and what it takes to get commissions. Portfolio for Dummies is a class created for artists to explore their potential as a creator, and what that means for them.
Project Management
This class is designed for older artists who have specific goals and projects they are working on. We help harness your workflow and your schedule and get you to your finish line, wherever that may be!
Storytelling in Comics
Comics is a powerful artform and one that is open to all types of collaborations and projects! In this class, throughout the year we'll look toward partnerships with film festivals and other art organizations and we'll develop comics' unique way of telling a story!
Writing For Comics
Writing For Comics is more than just a writing class. Comic books are a symbiotic relationship of words & pictures, and this program is designed to help unlock your inner storyteller. The lesson plans will help you understand how to make characters come to life in a tangible way, create scenarios that are both fantastic and relatable, and how to write for audiences of all ages and interests. Our class tends to attract teenagers and adults, but our class is all-ages appropriate, and anyone can jump in at any time.
Young Artist
Geared towards our young and emerging artists, students enjoy lessons on drawing, character creation, and demos from professionals.

The Single Monthly option is for the student who wants to give the Little Fish classes a try. For one class a week, four weeks a month, each student will select a specific class. Classes are held Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday. Here you'll learn the specifics of comic book creation through a variety of techniques including drawing, writing and collaboration. Classes include lectures, demos and field trips.
Twice Monthly
$250 Monthly (50.00 discount)
The Twice Monthly option is for the intermediate comic creator looking to get extra lessons to boost his or her skill base. Classes are available Tuesday -Thursday and Saturday. Students will learn a variety of techniques such as drawing, writing and collaboration. Class includes the ability to utilize the space and get additional feedback any time Saturday during Open Studio hours.

This is the membership for the comic creator who is looking for a personalized, intensive education plan. Students enjoy access to all classes and full studio hours as well as a occasional one-on-one meetings with a teacher to work on full artistic goals, both in and out of the studio.
